Over the past few years, Ameriprise has been on a journey to transform learning from a ‘required/ top-down’ approach to a learner-driven experience focused on helping learners build skills over time. Dave will share Ameriprise’s story – including what they’ve done, results to date, and the opportunities still ahead (including evolving/new skills needed in L&D).

About the Presenters: Dave Halvorson has spent most of his career exploring how technology can support and enhance learning and development. Prior to joining Ameriprise Financial, Dave held L&D roles at Target and Fredrickson Learning. In addition, he received his M. Ed. in Learning Technologies from the University of Minnesota in 2016. In his spare time, Dave loves being outdoors, attending concerts, and cheering for his daughters in pretty much everything they do.

Casey Johnston has been challenging the way learners at Ameriprise Financial learn and develop their skills so that they can continue to help clients feel confident about their financial future. For the last twelve years, Casey has held a variety of roles in learning and development, including the last year as a Senior Manager on the Advice and Wealth Management Learning and Development team. She and her team are responsible for learning technology, which includes the Degreed learning experience platform as well as the awareness and engagement strategy in support of Degreed. Her skills include consulting, leading change, communication, and driving results.
