In this 60-minute webinar, I’ll share stories and strategies to encourage and empower teachers to pivot into the corporate L&D world.
Educators have key functional skills that align with L&D roles yet corporate job descriptions, which use different terms for familiar activities and highlight requirements such as “adult learning experience,” trigger imposter syndrome. When teachers write their resumes, they spend more time showing how educators are well-skilled rather than how they uniquely are well-qualified for the job.
Throughout this webinar, I’ll cover:
- Stories/experience of successful educator-to-L&D in order to help teachers see their skills more clearly
- Trends I’m seeing in the job market (edtech/edjacent focus but I’ll cover the larger market as well) so they know what employers are looking for right now
- Strategies for communicating their high-value skills for the specific roles they’re targeting, both in the resume and interview
- How they can target common skills gaps as well as differentiate themselves from other educators
I’ll also share a resource guide of edjacent L&D thought leaders and job search resources.
Learning Objectives:
- Teachers will feel confident in entering the L&D field
- Teachers will know what kinds of L&D roles they want to learn more about or begin applying to
- Teachers will leave with a list of several specific skills they have that align with L&D roles
- Teachers will identify one or more specific skills to practice in their classroom or during the next professional development workshop they lead
