Whilst the pandemic provided the opportunity for L&D to roll up their sleeves and get involved with the business we’re still shy of talking about business value. Research conducted by Mind Tools for Business found that only 24% of executive business leaders can articulate the value of learning in their business.
  • Is L&D adding the value we think we are?
  • How can we strengthen the ties that bind L&D action to business results?
  • How can L&D maintain momentum to keep L&D focused on connecting learning to business?
We will work to build action items to immediately give you a template to take back to your team to lift L&D business value and strengthen partnerships. We will address fundamental ideas behind developing your own thinking habits as an L&D professional. You will begin by moving toward a “Business First” mindset as one of the most powerful habits to develop with starting to build business partnerships. This habit means that we define our value in terms of business outcomes. It challenges the Learning First thinking habit that has been reinforced over decades.
We will round out our workshop by exploring questions that you would ask of a business leader when meeting with them. Instead of being driven by meeting requests for training courses, shift to being driven by how to best apply your talents to solve business problems. Moving from seeing ourselves as creators of learning value to creators of business value is a crucial shift to increasing L&D business value.
