INTERIM BOARD REIMAGINING PACT
PACT is at an inflection point. We recognize the landscape for L&D professionals is changing dramatically. Participation, resource capacity, and the evolving needs of the learning and development community have prompted the board to step back and assess how to best serve members going forward.
On April 17, members voted on the future direction of PACT and voted in favor of continuing and reimagining our organization! (Rather than sunsetting the organization).
We thank everyone for voting and for those members willing to bring their energy and ideas to us during this transition process. If you would like to provide ideas and feedback, or potentially join a workgroup to help us in this effort over the next several months, please reach out to us at admin@pactmn.org.
The PACT Interim Board will use this transition phase to co-design a model that delivers real, tangible value to you. But we aren’t just going dark while we do the work. While we actively assess the needs of our membership, we’ll also continue to create value during this time.
We held a virtual Q&A session on Friday, April 17 to answer voting member questions prior to voting.
Voting was open from Friday, April 17 at 1:00 PM to Sunday, April 19 at 11:59 PM. Votes had to be submitted within this window to be counted. Once submitted, all votes were final.
All current PACT members at the time of the vote were eligible to vote.
The outcome was based on a simple majority of votes submitted during the voting period.
After the vote in May/June, we focused on the board transition and handoff of key information and responsibilities. The 2025-2026 board members who chose to rolled off at the end of their current term (June 30). The remaining members have formed a new interim board for this reimagining process.
- This interim board will work in partnership with the membership, as represented by a volunteer work group to be assembled to revisit the bylaws, consider new operating models, and develop a clear path to financial and organizational sustainability.
- This interim board will solicit input and participation from membership to re-evaluate the value PACT brings to members and the community.
- Potential areas for change that have been discussed could include (but are not limited to):
- Refocusing programming to better match member interests
- Potentially reducing the number of programs offered each year
- Adjusting meeting times and formats, including evening options and more in-person gatherings
- Pivoting away from traditional workshops toward a career-coaching model
- Focusing primarily on networking opportunities
- Phoenix Heller, President (Former VP)
- Dante Legaspi, Treasury Chair (Former Vice-Chair Programs)
- Ambre Quinn, Communications (Former Chair, Technology)
- Kyle DelaHunt, Technology Chair, (Former Vice-Chair, Technology)
Consistent Updates
The interim board will continue the newsletter, which will include updates on our progress, links to surveys and other ways to get involved, PACT community news, and professional resources.
Continued Connection
Although June 12 was our last formal member meeting/workshop for now, we’ll continue to host in-person networking events. In fact, we’re bumping our PACT Happy Hours from quarterly to monthly! And mark your calendars for our Summer Social on Wednesday, August 19!
Opportunities to Shape the Future
Starting in July, we will reach out to ask for your input. Our community is incredibly creative and talented and this type of experience improvement is right up our alley! We want to know what’s missing in our L&D community and ways we can provide better access and value to our members.
We are invested in this organization and would love for you to continue to be invested in PACT going forward. Watch our newsletters or join us at monthly happy hours.
We value your time and knowledge! You can choose exactly how much you want to participate in our redesign.
Choose Your Level of Engagement
1. Quick Feedback: Fill out a brief survey to share your thoughts.
2. 1:1 Conversations: Chat with a board member over coffee (or email, or virtual meeting, we’re flexible!).
3. Hands-On: Join a short-term work group or committee to pilot new ideas.
If you just can’t wait and you have ideas and feedback, please reach out to us any time at admin@pactmn.org.
We’re thrilled to build this next chapter with you!
We continued our programming through June as initially scheduled.
During this interim period, we will keep our members and subscribers informed about ways to engage in the reimagining via our newsletter and hosting social networking events more frequently on the third Wednesday evening of each month.
We are looking to grow this organization and hope you will grow with us. We will continue to offer value and opportunity for professional growth during this reimagining period, though in a different format than in the past.
Please reach out to us at admin@pactmn.org if you have questions or concerns about your membership dues and we can discuss options.
